UP: Rod pierces passenger's neck, dies

Aligarh (UP), Dec 2 (UNI) A passenger was killed after an iron rod pierced through his neck near Somna railway station in Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer said here.
Circle Officer of RPF SP Singh said Neelanchal Express from Delhi reached platform number 3 of Aligarh railway station around 9:30 am. "He said that initially information was received that a passenger on seat number 15 in the general coach next to the engine had sustained some injury," he said.
He said when the officers of RPF, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway reached the spot they found that a five meter long and one and a half inch thick iron rod had pierced through the neck of the passenger due to which he died on the spot.
