UP Power employees to go on two days strike from Jan 8

Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh power employees will join the nationwide two-day strike from January 8 next year against the Indian Electricity (amendment) bill 2018, privatization of the power distribution.
“Around 25 lakh members of NCCOEEE (power engineers and employees) would go on lightening strike if the Government takes unilateral decision, of bifurcating existing distribution system of power supply,” Shailendra Dubey, Co-convener NCCOEEE (National coordination committee of Electricity employees and engineers) and Chairman All India Power Engineers Federation said here on Tuesday.
The power employees are also demanding the restoration of the old pension scheme.
