UP police launches campaign against illegal firecracker units in state

Lucknow, Sep 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Police has launched a 15-day special campaign to curb incidents of explosions in illegal firecracker factories and warehouses across the state, police sources said today.
According to the police, they have launched this campaign following the instructions of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Krishna. The campaign is being run under the supervision of ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash.
Under this, all licensed firecracker units will be inspected by joint teams of jurisdictional officers, sub-divisional magistrates, station in-charges and fire officers. "The inspections will be videographed and verified by senior officials including ADMs, SPs, DIGs, commissioners and district magistrates," sources said.
