UP launches Rs 12 crore 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign ahead of Independence Day

Lucknow, August 8 With Independence Day around the corner, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a far-reaching "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign to spark patriotic enthusiasm across the state.
To support the large-scale initiative, the State Finance Commission has sanctioned Rs 12 crore, ensuring the tricolour reaches homes throughout the region.
As part of the campaign, 60 lakh national flags will be distributed free of cost in urban low-income areas. These flags will be produced by Self Help Groups (SHGs) linked to the State Urban Livelihood Mission under the Urban Development Department, an initiative expected to generate employment for nearly 29,000 women.
