UP: Kanpur-bound IPS officer Amitabh Thakur returns midway

Lucknow, Jul 13 (UNI) IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife, social worker Nutan Thakur, who were on their way to visit the Bikru village, had to return midway.
In a video, Ms Nutan said that she and her husband Amitabh were proceeding towards the Bikru village according to a pre-scheduled programme, but they received a phone call from the DGP office asking them to return.
Later, Ms Thakur told UNI, "We have already filed a petition before the Human Rights Commission over the Bikru case and our motive was to go there to meet people and know the facts in detail. This does not mean that we do not have faith in the SIT formed by the government or on other investigative agencies. SIT and other probe agencies also need inputs wherein we could have helped."
