UP joins in 71st R-Day celebration

Lucknow, Jan 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh joined the entire nation to celebrate the 71st Republic Day with full enthusiasm and gaiety.

The main function was held in front of the Vidhan Bhawan here in the state capital where governor Anandiben Patel hoisted the national tri colour and took the salute of the passing contingent of the army, central forces, state police and school children.

Students of different schools also presented colourful presentation before the governor. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath along with his cabinet colleagues and state officials were also present.

On the occasion state department and some schools also brought out beautiful tableaux.
Army displayed T90 Bhishma tanks and other arms and ammunition during the parade.

Choppers also sprayed flower petals on the parade near the Vidhan Bhawan.

This year's Republic day function in UP had a theme of the priorities of the BJP government at the centre besides the achievement of the Yogi Adityanath government in the state.

The national flag were also hoisted at all the government offices and offices of the political parties in the state capital.

Governor Anandiben Patel hoisted flag at the Rajbhawan and CM at his official residence before attending the main function.

UP governor, CM, ministers and political leaders have wished the people of the state on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day.

The state is under the seize of elaborate security cover today with sensitive places with additional police coverage.

Meanwhile Republic Day celebrations were reported from all over the state.

MP CM asks cops to use hi-tech

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday urged the Police and Health Department to provide improved services to commoners through utilising new technology.
“Every sphere has witnessed change – including in style of functioning. Public aspirations have also increased. Law enforcement and the Health Department are directly connected to the masses. Therefore, it is necessary that the behaviour and functioning of officials be improved so that the people obtain relief and repose greater faith in the system. Those in khaki should make better use of technology in investigation,” he was officially quoted as saying in the state capital’s Govindpura while dedicating 1,813 quarters for police personnel.

MP Govt inks health deal with Tata

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government inked a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with Tata Trusts vis-a-vis the latter’s extending technical-cum-managerial support for 115 identified health and wellness centres to be set up in four years within 23 high-priority districts, it was officially learnt.
The Trusts will extend cooperation for 500 more such facilities at a later stage. The agreement was signed at Mantralaya – in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Health Minister Tulsiram Silawat – by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty and Tata Trusts Vice President Vijay Singh.

SAD demands sacking of Health minister Balbir Sidhu for buprenorphine tablet scam

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday demanded the immediate dismissal of Health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu and registration of a case against him for diversion of five crore worth buprenorphine tablets which are used for treatment of narcotic addiction to private centres.
