UP govt to give additional Rs 5 lakh compensation to families of martyrs: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Oct 21(UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today announced that all families of the martyrs would be given financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh in addition to Rs 20-lakh compensation given to them.
"The Samajwadi Party government has always honoured and respected the martyrs' families and did everything to help them. We are already giving Rs 20 lakh as compensation but now we are considering to give additional Rs 5 lakh to the families of the martyrs," he announced while expressing his heartiest condolence to the deceased martyrs.
Attending the Police Commemoration Day Parade here today at the Police Lines Grounds, the CM honoured family members of seven policemen who lost their lives while performing duties. The CM also met the family members of the martyrs and consoled them.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
