UP govt manages handsome revenue collection in April during pandemic

Lucknow, May 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna has said despite Covid and disruption in economic activity due to partial lock down, the state achieved revenue realisation of Rs 11.196.49 crore against the target of Rs 13,175 crore in April, the first month of the current fiscal 2021-22.
He said during the same period in April last year the revenue recovery was only Rs 1,298 crore. He said this year the hike is as much as Rs 9,898 crore.
"The positive growth in revenue recovery during the pandemic period is a welcome sign for the economy of the state. Against the target of Rs 4,965.35 crore for GST, the actual revenue collection was Rs 5,157 crore in April this year", said Khanna said here on Wednesday while adding `` the GST collections in April 2020 was only Rs 670 crore’’.

Srinagar, Apr 18 (UNI) Authorities cracked a whip against traffic violators at the tourist resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir on Thursday.
A joint team of officers lead by Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Waseem Raja and accompanied by Tehsildar Gulmarg, officers of Motor Vehicle department ,Traffic Department, Police and municipality today launched enforcement drive in Gulmarg to curb the problems of traffic Jam, wrong parking and to ensure hassle free flow of traffic for convenience of tourists
“The enforcement drive was carried out to encourage active engagement from the community, including pedestrians, and public transport users in promoting a culture of responsibility and adherence to traffic laws,” officials said.
