UP: Govt dismisses HG district Commandant on basis of corruption in Bulandshahr

Lucknow, Oct 19 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday has ordered the dismissal of a District Commandant of the Home Guard Department of Bulandshahr in the case of corruption.
The State Government spokesperson said in a statement on Monday that the district commandant Mukesh Kumar had committed financial irregularities in the muster roll during his posting in Bulandshahr. He was under investigation during the suspension. The Chief Minister has ordered the dismissal of the officer after the completion of the investigation.
According to the spokesperson, three videos went viral on social media in November last year. In the viral video, Kumar was seen carrying money in his pocket in lieu of various duties of Home Guard volunteers. He said that it was clear during the talks in the video clip that the District Commandant charged money to allocate duties. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the government immediately investigated it. The initial investigation was conducted from the level of Deputy Commandant General Home Guard, Agra, based on whose report, Kumar was suspended and legal action was initiated.
