UP forest dept launches 'Swachh Utsav' drive

Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department will celebrate Seva Parv (September 17–October 2) as a ‘Swachh Utsav.’
A fortnight-long campaign will feature cleanliness drives, initiatives to curb single-use plastic, weed removal in bird sanctuaries, and public awareness programs focused on environmental protection, rainwater harvesting, and water conservation.
State Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Sunil Chaudhary, has directed officials at all levels to ensure effective execution. To oversee the campaign, Sushant Sharma, Secretary, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department, has been appointed as the government nodal officer, while Ramkumar, Additional PCCF (Projects), will serve as the departmental nodal officer.
