UP: Farmer killed in Tiger attack in Pilibhit

Pilibhit (UP), May 30 (UNI) A farmer was killed in an attack by a Tiger while he was tilling his field adjacent to the jungle in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve Area here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, forest department sources said here.
Sources said that Bhagwandas (30), a resident of Aliganj village, was tilling his sugarcane field adjacent to Mahof jungle. "While Bhagwanas was tilling his field he was attacked and killed by the Tiger hiding nearby," they said.
Divisional Forest Officer (Social Forestry) Sanjiv Kumar said that information about the death of a farmer in Tiger attack was received. "The body of the farmer has been sent for post mortem examination and a process to provide compensation to the family of the deceased has been initiated," he said.
