UP: Drive to check water pollution in rivers of nine cities soon

Lucknow, Oct 14 (UNI) Buoyed by its stupendous success in curbing water pollution in the Ganga river during the Kumbh fair in Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh government will now be undertaking a drive to control the same in the rivers of nine other cities.
After visiting an exhibition in a workshop organised on the theme of 'Clean Air Programme' in the state capital, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, informed the mediapersons about the government's plan.
Mr Adityanath said that the government was serious about the pollution in the rivers of the nine cities in UP, adding that Monitoring Centers will be established in each city. These centers will provide information about the places from where these rivers receive the maximum pollution, the CM said.
