UP Congress to hold talent search test for minority students on Saturday

Lucknow, Sep 18 (UNI) Close on the heels of felicitating college going students who had excelled in the Rajeev Gandhi general awareness test conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee on directions of AICC general secretary, incharge UP East, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, now the Party’s Minority Cell will hold a talent search programme on Saturday next.

According to national chairman of the Congress Minority Cell, Nadeem Javed, buoyed with the success of Rajeev Gandhi General Awareness Test held recently in memory of former Prime Minister’s birth anniversary, he too directed the Minority Cell State Chairman Rehan Khalid to conduct a talent search programme for youths on coming Saturday.
He asked Khalid to invite youths from the minority community from all the 40 districts of Eastern UP to Lucknow and hold a day long talent search programme.

Mr Javed said that he also appointed senior Congress leader from Rajasthan, Dr Azam Beg, former President of
Aligarh Muslim University Students Union, as coordinator of the talent search programme. He said that after holding the programme, the coordinator will send his detailed report on September 24.

Mr Javed said that very soon they will also hold similar talent hunt programme for the youths of minority community in Western Uttar Pradesh too.

Meanwhile veteran Congress leader Pramod Tewari on Wednesday condemned the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA from Khatauli Assembly segment in Muzaffarnagar, Vikram Saini and demanded stern action against him.

``The language used by the BJP MLA against the architect of modern India and country’s first prime minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and his family members including former PM Rajeev Gandhi showed the ideology of the saffron leaders”, asserted Tewari claiming that after opposing the war of freedom struggle, such statement showed that even now the same group was carrying the ideology of Nathu Ram Godse.

Mr Tewari further said that he still hope that the senior BJP leaders would take cognizance of the statement given by Mr Saini and would initiate stern action against him besides apology for the derogatory remarks.
