UP Cong Prez hints alliance with SP for polls

Lucknow, Dec 4 (UNI) Giving hint that Congress party could join hands with the Samajwadi Party to contest the upcoming State Assembly elections, state Congress President Raj Babbar today said the party's high command will decide on the alliance.
"Like Samajwadi Party has authorised Mulayam Singh Yadav or Netaji to take the decision of alliance similarly Congress high command will decide the fate," Mr Babbar said after flagging off a 'Dalit Yatra' launched by the party from the state party office. But he did not elaborate about the proposed alliance and refused to speak on the matter more.
Earlier, while flagging off the 'Dalit Yatra', Babbar said that Congress had always followed the ideology of the Dr BR Ambedkar. "This yatra will support three cause of the Dalits: education,security and honour," he said while adding that Congress had always worked for the upliftment of the Dalits. "We are committed for school to college education, Suraksha Mitras and Swabhiman for Dalits," he said.
