UP CM wants asymptomatic Covid patients to be kept in hospitals in NCR

Lucknow, Jul 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has suggested that as the traffic between Delhi and NCR region is regular and heavy, the asymptomatic patients should be kept in hospitals under the watchful eyes of the doctors because they can be a big threat to community spread.
“There is a need to control the movement of asymptomatic patients. Therefore, it is mandatory that they should be kept in the hospital so that we can check community spread,” Mr Adityanath said during virtual meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah which was also attended by the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Delhi on Thursday.
He said all the district hospitals have the facility of truNat machine which can detect Covid patients in two hours. This has helped in treatment of non-Covid patients. “For better co-ordination, the Centre should give permission to National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research in Gautambudh Nagar should be allowed to carry out Covid-19 tests,” he said in the meeting called “Strengthening Covid-19 response in Delhi and NCR region."
