UP CM transfers Rs 1301 cr in accounts to 86.71 lakh beneficiaries in UP

Lucknow, Jun 4(UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday transferred Rs 1301.84 crore online in the accounts of 86,71,181 beneficiaries as pension instalment for old age pension, Nirashrit Mahila pension, Divyang pension, leprosy pension and as an additional relief under the Pradhanmantri Garib Kalyan package.

The Chief Minister said that when the entire world is grappling with the global epidemic Corona, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned about all the people. He said that earlier in April, a two-month lump sum pension was issued to all the beneficiaries. Now another instalment has been released again to these beneficiaries.

Addressing the beneficiaries through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that today with the help of technology, fund is being directly transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries by one click. This was not done earlier. Earlier there was exploitation, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made such an arrangement that the 100 per cent of the fund released from Delhi and Lucknow is reaching the beneficiaries' accounts on time. He said that the beneficiaries do not have to visit the bank. Pensioners can get money in their villages from the banking correspondents, and this will help avoid crowding in the banks, the CM said.

Appealing to the people, he said that amidst the Corona crisis, people should avoid overcrowding and remain alert in order to prevent themselves from getting infected. Pregnant women, children, elderly and sick people must not move out from the houses under any condition. Despite this, if someone has to move outside the house, then the person must cover his or her mouth and nose. The government is providing two masks to every person for Rs 10.

The Chief Minister said that under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana Package, an amount of Rs 1000 per beneficiary and an instalment of pension for the month of June have been transferred. This includes Rs 748.06 crore to 49, 87,054 beneficiaries of old age pension, Rs 390.93 crore to 26,06,213 beneficiaries of 'nirashit mahila pension', Rs 160.17 crore to 10,67,786 beneficiaries of divyang pension and Rs 2.68 crore to 10,728 beneficiaries of leprosy pension.
