It was all due to the magnificent teamwork and steely resolve of everyone involved in this,’’ he said adding ‘’ it is a matter of immense pleasure that not only in India but in other countries as well, the UP Model of Covid Management was considered as worth emulating.’’

Spelling out ‘mission rozgar’ of his government, the UP CM said that while 4 lakh youths have got government jobs during the last three and a half years. Another 15 lakh were facilitated to get private jobs while 1.5 crore youths were added to employment through investment and about 15 crore youth got self-employment by way of various schemes of the Centre and the state, he pointed out.
Pushing the youth agenda of his government further, he chose the occasion to announce a novel facility to fulfill the dreams of the competitive students of UPPSC, NDA or other competitive exams. “We have seen that every year, lakhs of youths head to other places for coaching for various competitive examinations. To assist them and to ensure that do not have to leave their state and villages, we have come up with the `Abhyuday’ free of cost coaching,” said CM Yogi.
He said that the state government would open Abhyuday coaching centres at 18 Divisional Headquarters of the state, both physically and virtually. “We have seen that this year, the social welfare department has identified over 1.43 lakh youths who have excelled in various fields and has given them scholarships. From this year, we will be identifying three to five people who have given a new identity to the state in the country as well as globally, and we will be honoring them with the UP `Gaurav Samman’, the CM said adding that the Vishwakarma Samman was instituted In the 2nd edition of UP diwas while in the 3rd chapter, Atal Awasiya Vidyalalaya Yojana for the poor and downtrodden youths of the society was launched.
Narrating the history of UP Diwas, Chief Minister Yogi said that it was never celebrated in the state despite of the fact that on January 24,1950, a notification was issued in this regard. He termed it as ‘unfortunate’ that no previous government ever thought of glorifying the past of the state by celebrating the Day but it started ever since BJP come to power. “We ensured that it is celebrated every year (from 24th to 26 January) along with our Republic day and the first UP diwas was celebrated in 2018 through which we also launched our prestigious ODOP scheme which is now continuously working to give a local and a global stage to our artisans and craftsmen and their skills,” he added.
The ODOP also got a platform on the investors’ summit where our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also appreciated our initiative and said that the scheme is a contribution towards the `Atmanirbhar Bharat’,” he said. “Every district of the state has a unique identity and I think it should also be given a local platform like UP diwas, he pointed out.
“UP has been the focal point of India’s independence and has led the country in every field. However, for the past few years it carried an image of `Danga’ Pradesh and `Apradh’ Pradesh, However, we have successfully shunned that image by ensuring a strict law and order since 2017 and UP has become a model for law and order, employment and investment. We have also put a check on professional criminals and have created a better industrial environment and today, investors are eager to come to UP to invest here and set up their industries. Whatever in now happening in the state, is setting an example of self-reliance,” said the CM.
He said that his government also put emphasis on the development of religious and historical places as well as paying tribute to our little known or unknown freedom fighters.
The CM also said that the state successfully handled the corona pandemic and set an example for the country as well as the world. “We remember when the global pandemic hit the world, we took an instant decision and started working from day one. Despite poor health infrastructure, we ensured that we took it affront and our corona model was not only globally appreciated but our PM gave our blessings. Now, we are in the second phase of vaccination and we will ensure that not a single heath worker is left behind, he said while pointing out that over one lakh health workers have so far been vaccinated.
“During the lockdown over 40 lakh migrant workers came back to UP and we not only ensured food for them and arranged for a roof above their head, but we also ensured that they get employment at local level,”, said the CM
Today, India has developed the vaccine for corona and besides the people of the country, we are also giving it to many countries like Brazil, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, Bangladesh and others. Yesterday, the PM of Brazil talked to our PM and thanked him and also shared a picture of lord Hanuman carrying the Sanjivani (corona vaccine) as a gesture of thanks, said the CM.
