UP CM goes tough on distribution of food to needy

UP CM goes tough on distribution of food to needy

Lucknow, Apr 4 (UNI) To ensure that every needy person gets food, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that it was the responsibility of the respective District Magistrate that no one slept empty stomach in Uttar Pradesh, for which help of Pradhans and Councilors should be taken.
'In the districts where community kitchens have not started yet, the Chief Secretary should talk to the DMs to ensure the availability of food. The DMs should be held accountable for distribution of free food among the poor and the destitute,' the Chief Minister said, while holding a meeting with Team-11 at his government residence, here.
He said for distribution of food, help should be taken from Pradhans, Councilors and other employees of local bodies. Also ensure that everyone should get LPG cylinders, medicines and essentials, he added.
The Chief Minister said that control rooms should function efficiently. If someone does not receive calls in the control room, then an FIR should be filed against them. He said the District Supply Officer should be instructed that if someone complains about not getting the ration, his ration card should be immediately made, and he should be provided Rs 1000 too.
'Where complaints are received in large number on CM helpline, the same should be monitored and the list should also be provided to him as well,' Mr Adityanath said.
The Chief Minister further said that despite the lockdown, intentional violation of social distancing standards or spreading chaos is a well-planned conspiracy.
'Be very strict with such people, and those who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat event, should be caught,' he added.
Also, seize their mobile phones and check their call details. Examine all their belongings closely and if suspected things are found, seize them. Pay special attention to the cleanliness and sanitization of places, where such people are staying, said the Chief Minister.
He also discussed in detail the action plan after the lockdown is lifted.
'To compensate the impact of the lockdown on the state's economy, discussions should be held with the state and district level bankers from now and a strategy should be prepared accordingly. Also, strategy should be made on what can be done through employment fairs, Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, One District One Product (ODOP) and Mati Kala Board, so that it can be implemented as soon as the situation becomes normal,' he added.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public to cover their face when they go out of the house during the lockdown period. Apart from mask, people can also use scarf as an option, he said.
