UP CM conferred with 'Ambedkar Priya Yogi Adityanath' honour

Lucknow, Dec 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was conferred with 'Dr Ambedkar Priya Yogi Adityanath' honour on Friday.

In a programme organised on Baba Saheb's death anniversary, the honour was conferred upon the UP CM by Baba Saheb Dr Ambedkar Mahasabha Trust.

On this occasion, Mr Adityanath was gifted a three feet high statue of Dr Ambedkar.

Conferring the honour on Mr Yogi, the Trust's president Dr Lalji Prasad Nirmal said the Chief Minister had directed that Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar's pictures be put up on all offices and government schools.

In view of the Chief Minister's special attachment towards Dr Ambedkar and weaker sections of society, he has been conferred with the 'Ambedkar Priya' honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yogi announced that the Dr Ambedkar Asthi Kalash Bhawan will be made as a grand monument wherein, facilities like an auditorium, library, etc will be available. He also talked about preparing its action plan.

Mr Yogi said that Baba Saheb had opposed Article 370 because he believed that this will give rise to divisive thinking. But the Congress did not pay heed to this. The work of realising Dr Ambedkar's dream has been done my Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is a true tribute to Baba Saheb.

A special session in the Legislative Assembly was organised to relive the memories of Baba Saheb after 70 years in the form of Constitution Day.

Mr Adityanath said that Dr Ambedkar's soul lies in the Indian Constitution and PM Modi gave directions for November 26 to be celebrated as Constitution Day, to give respect and honour Baba Saheb.

On this occasion, Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya paid her tributes to Dr Ambedkar and said that apart from being the architect of the Constitution, he was also a great economist, politician and philosopher. He gave priority to education and achieved progress through it. His principal slogan was, 'become educated, get organised and then struggle.'

Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak, Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia, Ambedkar Mahasabha office-bearer Beena Maurya, Amarnath Prajapati, Dr Satya Dohre, Virendra Vikram Suman, Sarvesh Patil, Pramod Saroj, Jai Shankar Sahai, Ravishankar Havelkar, Bhaggulal Valmimi also paid their respects to Baba Saheb and shared their thoughts on this occasion.

2 drown in river

Betul, MP, Aug 3 (UNI) Two persons met a watery grave on Monday while bathing in the Tapti at Barahling, law-enforcement authorities said.
The deceased were identified as Aakash Sahu (24) and Umesh Jedhe (45). The latter’s corpse was fished out whereas divers were still searching for the other body when reports last came in. The duo was accompanying family members who came for worship.

Narsinghpur, MP, Aug 3 (UNI) Four persons died when a truck – conveying them from their native district Dewas to Jabalpur District – overturned in the vicinity of Nandner village on Monday, law-enforcement authorities said.
The deceased were identified as Veerendra (35), his spouse Pooja (32), their children Mayank (12) and Lakshya (11). The driver was placed under arrest.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 900

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 900 on Monday in Madhya Pradesh where 14 fresh fatalities were reported even as the infected tally touched 34,285 with 750 new sufferers being detected during analysis of 12,862 samples.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight said that the active cases number 9,286. The state capital spawned 166 fresh instances taking its aggregate to 6,793 of which 4,223 have recuperated – 44 of them on this day. The city’s death toll stands at 190. Indore’s corresponding stats are 91; 7,646; 5,235; 88 and 317. Gwalior recorded 76 more infected taking the total to 2,507 of which 13 succumbed since commencement of the outbreak.

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) A rather unusual but extremely warm-hearted sequence of events was witnessed on Monday at the city-based Chirayu Hospital when one COVID-19-infected patient tied a rakhi to another – the lady in question was Madhya Pradesh Cooperatives Minister Arvind Singh Bhadoria’s spouse Archna and the gentleman was none other than Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“I pray for her rapid recovery and joyful existence. Corona warrior Saroj – stationed at the ward where I am undergoing treatment – also tied the thread of sisterly affection on my wrist. My life is dedicated to the welfare of sisters and uplift of the state. Next year, we shall celebrate Raksha Bandhan with considerable pomp and gaiety,” Mr Chouhan conveyed via social media.
