UP Assy members rake up defamatory news against them by news channels

Lucknow, Sep 1(UNI) Two members of the Assembly, one from the ruling Samajwadi Party and another from the BJP, raised the issue of how two different electronic news channel had telecast defamatory news against them and sought action against these channels.
Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, immediately took cognisance of the pleas of the members and asked them to move an application of privilege notice under rule 63 against these news channels.
State Minister and SP member from Ayodhya Tej Narain Pandey alias Pawan Pandey raised the issue just after the state Assembly sat for the day, alleging that a news channel was showing for the past three days that he had met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with BJP MP from Faizabad Lalu Singh and claimed that he was slated to join the BJP.
