UP: 5 drown during Ganesh idol immersion

Lucknow, Sep 19(UNI) In a tragic incident, five people including a mother and her son drowned in Kalyani river in Barabanki district when they went to immerse Lord Ganesh's idol on Sunday.

The villagers rushed to save them and informed the police about the incident. Later a flood unit of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) along with five divers were pressed into action to search for the drowned people.

Narsinghpur, MP, Oct 24 (UNI) A constable died when a car veered off a culvert on Sunday at Panjara village in Mungwani Police Station limits, police said.
The deceased was identified as Sandeep Uike (35). The body was sent for postmortem.

Cluster Model 2 0 to boost second dose coverage in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Oct 24 (UNI) After successfully administering the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to over 65 percent of the total eligible population, the Uttar Pradesh government will now adopt the ‘Cluster Model 2.0’ from November 1 to improve the second dose coverage in the state.

Bye-election: 17 Companies of Central Paramilitary Forces deployed in HP

Shimla, Oct 24 (UNI) As many as 17 companies of Central Paramilitary Police including six ITBP, three SSB, three CRPF and five BSF have been deployed to conduct safe and free bypolls in Himachal Pradesh as polling is scheduled on Oct 30 and counting of votes on November 2.

Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Kundu said in a statement issued here today that apart from 17 companies, 6,000 police personnel of different ranks of the state police have also been deployed for election duty.
