UP: 3 youths die during idol immersion in Mainpuri

Mainpuri (UP), Sep 28 (UNI) Three youths drowned during immersion of Lord Ganesha idol on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi in a pond in Ghiror area of Mainpuri district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that residents of Dalupur village under Barnahal police station had gone to immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha at the pond of Markandey Rishi ashram. "During immersion some youths entered the pond and five of them started drowning," they said.
Police sources said that the youth were taken out of the pond by the divers. "Atul (22), Aryran (18) and Vijendra (40) died during treatment at the hospital. "Ajay Kumar (40) has been admitted to mini PGI at Saifai," they said.
