Unseasonal rain in Hyderabad-Karnataka districts washed out standing crops

Kalaburagi, Dec 14 (UNI) Unseasonal rain in several parts of the Hyderabad-Karnataka districts including Kalaburagi and Bidar washed away standing Tur, Cotton and Bengal gram crops leaving farmers in the lurch.
According to official sources, the rain Rain lashed Kalaburagi city and other parts of the district on Thursday night and Friday morning affecting normal life. Cloudy weather prevailed in most parts of the district with the day temperature drastically coming down to 23 degree Celsius from 30 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Farmers expressed fears about loss of Tur crops which were to be harvested. Standing cotton crops may also suffer to some extent.
