Unorganized sector labourers held

Puducherry, Apr 17( UNI) Police on Monday arrested about 200 unorganized sector labourers when they resorted to an agitation in front of the office of the Labour Commissioner here to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things like setting up of a welfare board for unorganized sector labourers, and provision of Deepavali assistance of Rs.3000.
The employees took out a procession to press these demands and were stopped by the police in front of the office of the Labour Commissioner where they held an agitation and courted arrest.
