Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jan 8 2016 4:59PM Union MoS claims funds not reaching rural areas in AssamGuwahati, Jan 8 (UNI) Union Minister of Stater (MoS) for Panchayati Raj Nilah Chand Mehwal today alleged that Assam government has failed to release Central government funds to village panchayats as per time frame laid down by the government. “The ministry had given over Rs 290 crore to Assam government for release to village bodies in August itself. As per rules, money should have been released within 15 days, but more than four months have passed and the money has still not been released by the state,”Mr Mehwal told reporters at the airport here. He also said the state government has been set a fresh time frame of seven days to release the money.
