Union Home Minister assures INPT to consider NRC in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 5 (UNI) A delegation of tribal based opposition Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) is assured by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday that the demand for National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Tripura would be considered after successful completion of NRC in Assam.
Singh held meeting with a four member INPT delegation led by it’s president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawal at his chamber in North Block, as INPT had decided to go for agitation to press for their demand of NRC in the state to identify illegal migrants for ensuring security of the country.
The INPT has been demanding NRC not only in Tripura also for whole India to protect the rights and privileges of genuine citizens of the country. They alleged that a large scale illegal migration occurred all over India from neighboring countries and mostly in the bordering states of Bangladesh.
