Maoists kill one of the cops held hostage
Patna, Sep 2 (UNI) Maoists today killed Inspector of Manikpur police station Abhaya Yadav, one of the four policemen held hostage by the ultras after last Sunday's bloody encounter with the police in Lakhisarai district. Avinash, who claimed to be a spokesperson of Maoists, disclosed about the killing of Yadav. However, police did not confirm about the killing. Avinash informed a section of the media that the body of Yadav would be handed over at around 2000 hrs today.

Gadkari to visit Russia for clean drinking water
New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) BJP President Nitin Gadkari will be visiting Russia from September 6 to 10 on an invitation from the 'Water Freedom Revolution' (WFR) as part of his mission to provide clean drinking water to the people. The WFR is an international awareness movement dedicated towards promotion of importance of clean drinking water.

Arrest Syed Geelani immediately: Ram Jethmalani
Mumbai, Sep 2 (UNI) Legal luminary and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani today accused 'hardline' Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani of being on the payroll of Pakistan and demanded his immediate arrest to put an end to the violence in Kashmir. Talking to reporters at a Meet the Press programme at the press club here, Mr Jethmalani said ''I will apologise to Mr Geelani if he swears by the Holy Quran that he has not been on the payroll of Pakistan at all relevant times....

Kalraj demands Chidambaram's suspension on 'saffron terror'
Varanasi, Sep 2 (UNI) BJP Vice-President and senior leader Kalraj Mishra today demanded the suspention of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram from Union Cabinet on his 'saffron terror' statement. ''Mr Chidambaram is motivating the dividing power within and outside the country by passing such remarks. He is misguiding people by issuing such false statements,'' Mr Mishra told a press conference.

MoEF slaps show cause to VAL for its expansion project
Bhubanewswar, Sep 2 (UNI) The Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) has slapped a show cause notice to the Vedanta Alumina Limited (VAL) on the withdrawal of terms of reference for its expansion projects and closure of the 1 MTPA Alumina plant established at Lanjigarh with an investment of Rs 5000 crore.
