NCB sleuths bust two major drug syndicates in Hyderabad & Bengaluru ; 6 held

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials from Bengaluru zonal unit busted two major drug syndicates by arresting six persons in Hyderabad and Bengaluru in the last three days.
During the operation, the officials seized 3 kg of pseudoephedrine at Hyderabad and commercial quantities of MDMA pills , Methamphetamine, Methaqualone, small quantity of High Grade Ganja at Bengaluru, NCB Zonal Director at Bengaluru Amit Ghawate said in a release on Saturday.
Based on specific information on Thursday last, the officers of NCB, Hyderabad Sub-zone intercepted a parcel which was destined to Australia and seized 3 Kg of Pseudoephedrine, concealed in the falls line areas of three lehengas.
The contraband was well concealed and stitched to avoid detection by the Enforcement Agency.
In a swift follow up action, the consignor of the consignment was identified to be at Chennai and NCB Chennai team apprehended the consignor after two days of prolonged field surveillance.
The consignor had used a fake address and documents to conceal his identity.
On Saturday at Bengaluru, the officers of NCB, Bengaluru Zonal Unit intercepted a swift car of AP registration at Devanahalli toll which was proceeding towards Hyderabad from Bengaluru and apprehended four persons.
They recovered commercial quantity of MDMA pills, Methamphetamin and Methaqualone from the possession of one person who is resident of Visakhapatnam while other 3 persons are from Bihar and Hyderabad.
In a swift follow up action, the premises of the supplier was identified and the search resulted in seizure of a small quantity of high grade ganja and apprehended one person from the premises.
The syndicate was procuring a variety of drugs from a supplier based in Bengaluru and sells them to various youths, parties and in pubs in Hyderabad.
The seized more than 10 grams of MDMA is a commercial quantity under NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.
MDMA (Methyl enedioxy methamphetamine) is commonly known as ecstasy and Methamphetamine is a very potent and dangerous stimulant drug.
It is commonly abused as a party drug. The side effects of the drug are also very dangerous on the human body.
Continued usage can lead to heart problems including heart attack, memory lapses, hallucinations and seizures.
