Haryana police seize 673 kg ganja patti, 2 held

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) In a major catch, Haryana Police have arrested two persons on the charges of drug peddling and recovered 673 kg 200 grams of ganja patti being smuggled in a canter from Nuh district.
Giving this information here on Saturday, a spokesman of Haryana Police said the police team during routine patrolling at Adbar Chowk received a tip-off about two youths involved in illegal trade of drug peddling bringing narcotics from somewhere in a canter to supply it in the grain market.
The police immediately raided the location and nabbed two persons. Search of the canter led to the recovery of 22 bags weighing 673 kg 200 gram ganja patti.
The arrested accused were identified as Sabbir and Yunus. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against them. They would be taken on remand for interrogation by producing in the court so that the name of their associates involved in the racket could be unearthed. Further probe is underway.
