Uniformed Maoist killed in encounter, 10 kg landmine recovered in Chhattisgarh

Jagdalpur, Feb 20 (UNI) A uniformed Naxal was gunned down during an encounter with police at Taralguda village in insurgency-hit Sukma district today.
"On being tipped-off, a joint police team, comprising 200 personnel, rushed to forest near the village where the rebels ambushed and opened fire on the police which retaliated. In the gunbattle, a Maoist Madkam Mudar died on the spot," Inspector General (Bastar Region) SRP Kalluri said.
He said the rebel’s body was found during searching after the encounter. An improvised explosive device (IED), a loaded gun, detonators and other materials were seized from the spot, he added.
