Unidentified gunmen shot down NSCN-IM cadre in Nagaland

Kohima, Aug 17 (UNI) After a lull of over a year, the inter-factional clash raised its ugly head in Nagaland, when one National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Issac-Muivah) cadre, in the rank of ‘major’ was shot dead by some masked unidentified gunmen at his residence in Purana Bazar area of Dimapur town last night.

Official sources said that the victim was identified as one ‘major’ Toishe (45 years) from Yemishe village under Aghunato sub-division in Zunheboto district, presently a resident of Purana Bazaar-B Unity colony in Dimapur town. Sources said two unidentified persons wearing masks came to his residence on a motorcycle in between 7:30 to 8 PM to the house of Toishe, while he was having food. The assailants first shot Toishe on the right temple and the second bullet hit the chest. Sources said that the assailants also fired at ‘maj.’ Toishe’s wife, when she went in pursuit of them, but escaped unhurt. Toishe was immediately rushed to a private nursing Hospital in Dimapur, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
