Unbeaten 70 by Jadeja bolsters India to 354-7 at lunch

Mohali, Nov 28 (UNI) Ravindra Jadeja (70 not out, 142 balls, 6x4s, 1x6) became the fourth Indian batsman to hit half century as India steadly progressed to 354 for 7 in 114 overs from overnight 271 for 6, at lunch on the third day of the third Test against England at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium here today. Displaying their strong batting line-up, India have gained 71-run first innings lead with three wickets in hand.
Jadeja and Jayant Yadav (26 batting) further bolstered the Indian innings as this pair stitched a partnership of 53 runs for the unfinished eighth wicket stand.
Jadeja, who was on 31 overnight, worked on leg side to a Rashid's delivery for one to complete his half century in 104 balls and smashed five fours and one six. Cheteshwar Pujara (51), Virat Kohli (62) and Ravichandran Ashwin (72) are the other Indian batsmen who hit half centuries in India's first innings in the current Mohali Test.
