UN chief asks for massive stimulus package in response to coronavirus

United Nations, Mar 24 (UNI) UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday asked leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) to help launch a stimulus package to keep businesses, workers and households particularly in the developing countries, afloat due to the coronavirus crisis, which has forced several businesses, especially non essential businesses to close down.

By the end of this year, the cost of this pandemic is likely to be in the trillions, Guterres told G20 leaders and they(G20) must inject massive resources into the economies to provide the necessary stimulus to keep them from collapsing.
