Uma Bharti asks stakeholders to actively participate in clean Ganga mission

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti today said cleaning Ganga river was a challenge for the government, and called upon stakeholders to share ideas that would give a better insight for framing a strategic long-term policy for restoration of the river.
Ms Bharti said Ganga was among the 10 most polluted rivers in the world and the role of villages situated along the river bank would play a very vital role in this regard.
The minister was speaking at the inauguration of the National convention on Swachh Ganga – Gramin Sahbhagita which was attended by more than 1,600 gram pradhans of villages located on the banks of River Ganga.
