Kiev, Sep 11 (UNI) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday signed a bill that would abolish the parliamentarians' immunity of people's deputies of Ukraine.
The official website of Ukraine Parliament said in a statement that President Zelenskyy signed the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine on the Immunity of People's Deputies of Ukraine" approved by the Ukrainian parliament on September 3, 2019.
According to the law, article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine has a new wording, which does not contain provisions that Members of Parliament are guaranteed parliamentary immunity and cannot be held criminally liable, detained or arrested without the consent of the parliament.
