UK minister meets families of disappeared Tamil & Sinhalese persons

Colombo, Oct 7 (UNI) UK Minister for Asia and the Pacific, Mark Field, has met family members of the disappeared from both Sinhalese and Tamil communities to hear of their hopes for the Office of Missing Persons (OMP).

Minister Field arrived in Sri Lanka on a two-day visit from October 5 to 6, the Daily Mirror reported today.

During the visit, he also held discussions with Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana and Opposition Leader R Sampanthan in Colombo.

In a tweet, the UK High Commission said discussions were based on Constitutional reforms and reconciliation in Sri Lanka and UK's dynamic vision for CHOGM-2018.
