U-19 Football: India loses to France 0-2

New Delhi, Sept 10 (UNI) Indian Under-19 football team lost to France 0-2 in the four-nation tournament being played in Zagreb, Croatia on Sunday.

Indian goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill stopped them from hitting a goal in the eighth minute, however, the opponents took a lead in the 18th minute.

In 34th minute, Indian team missed the opportunity to equalise, as Aniket Jadhav, who was standing in the striking circle, failed to hit the net.

Goalkeeper Gill came up with another acrobatic save in the 44th minute as both teams headed to the interval and settled at 1-0.

In the second half, Aniket had another chance to level the score, but his shot went over the crossbar in 65th minutes and left India 0-1 in the match.

France scored another goal in the 73rd minutes and took the score to 0-2.

With this loss India finished their campaign without a win in the tournament. Earlier, they had also lost to Croatia 0-5 and Slovenia 0-1.

Now, Indian U-19 Team will play friendlies against Serbia on September 13 and 17.
