Tokyo, Sep 6 (UNI) More than 227,000 homes in Japan's southern Kyushu region are currently without electricity due to the approaching of Typhoon Haishen, Kyushu Electric Power Company said on Sunday.
Haishen is believed to be the strongest Typhoon to hit Japan in decades
Haishen started it's journey towards Japan's south and southwest over the weekend, all seven prefectures on Kyushu Island have issued evacuation orders to local residents who amount to about 1.8 million people.
As per the NHK broadcaster as of 10 p.m. local time (11:00 GMT) the Typhoon was 100 kilometers (62 miles) west of the city of Makurazaki city on the island's Kagoshima prefecture and was en route to the north-northwest at the speed of 35 kilometers per hour (22 miles per hour).
