Two years on owner booked for ceiling collapse which killed one and maimed another

Thane, Feb 16 (UNI) More than two years after an incident in which a ceiling of a flat collapsed killing the occupant and his wife lost her leg, the city police have booked the owner of the building who was occupying the upper floor the police said on Sunday.
Based on the complaint by the victim's son the Shree Nagar police have registered a case against the owner of the building Rajnikant Pathare, 54. The building is located in Kisan Nagar. The accused has been booked under sections 304(A) and 288 of the IPC but no arrests has been made in this connection so far.
The police said quoting the complainant that the family resided in the flat No. 201 of the building while the accused resided in flat No. 301. There was an issue with the ceiling of the victims flat which had developed cracks and was leaking and he had repeatedly asked the owner to repair the same but of no avail.
