Two Tripura officers suspended for misleading CM

Agartala, Nov 5 (UNI) Tripura government has suspended two officers – a joint director and a senior information officer (SIO) of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department for dereliction of duty and providing misleading information to the Chief minister regarding payment of advertisement bill to the newspapers before Durga puja.
The state government has faced serious embarrassment during the festival because of non-payment of long pending bills to the media houses. This affected the journalists and non-journalists as they could not get bonus and incentives besides, salaries.
According to reports, Tripura government has been paying outstanding bills of advertisement twice a year – in last week of March and a week before Durga puja, but this year it did not happen despite sanction of fund well before the celebration by the Chief Minister, who also holds the ICA portfolio.
