Two trekkers die in Kinner-Kailash of HP

Shimla, Jun 26 (UNI) The district administration of Kinnaur on Wednesday disclosed that two trekkers, belonging to Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, had died at the Kinner-Kailash trekking route in the state, during the last 24 hours.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Surender Thakur said the body of Varun Singh (28), hailing from Jhajar of Haryana, was recovered near a 'Gufa,' three km above the Ganesh Park, on way to Kinner-Kailash, while the body of Payush Verma (26), resident of Badagaon in Kumarsen Tehsil, was recovered from near the Glacier.According to Mr Thakur, five trekkers, including four from Himachal and one from Haryana, had left for Kinner-Kailash route.
The trekkers reportedly undermined the administration's warning and risked their lives by scaling the Kinner-Kailash route in the month of June, when the high reaches were still snowing. The route is only open for trekking from August 1 to 11 every year, the SDM pointed out.

Dehradun, Apr 19 (UNI) Uttarakhand has witnessed an average voter turnout of 24.83 per cent for five Lok Sabha seats till 11am on Friday,
Excluding the Nainital constituency, voting percentages in the other four constituencies have surpassed those of the 2019 elections within the same timeframe, which recorded 23.59 per cent turnout by Friday midday.
