Two-tier Mizoram Ministry headed by Lalduhoma sworn in

Aizawl, Dec 8 (UNI) A two-tier Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) government headed by Lalduhoma was sworn-in at the Raj Bhavan's circular lawn here on Friday.
Apart from the Chief Minister, seven cabinet minister and four Ministers of State were administered the oath of office and secrecy by State governor Hari Babu Kambhampati
Lalfamkima, appointed as the Pro-tem Speaker, was also sworn-in after oath-taking by the members of the council of ministers.
Among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were outgoing Chief Minister Zoramthanga, former Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, newly elected MLAs, families of the new Ministers, top officials and other invitees.
Portfolios of the newly inducted cabinet ministers and ministers of state were allocated on Friday itself.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma will hold Finance, Planning & Programme Implementation, General Administration Department, Political & Cabinet, Law & Judicial and Vigilance departments while journalist turned politician K. Sapdanga holds Home, Urban and Poverty Alleviation, Personal and Administrative Reforms and Disaster Management and Rehabilitation departments.
Former Deputy Speaker Vanlalhlana was allotted Public Works, Transport and Parliamentary Affairs departments. C. Lalsawivunga was allotted Local Administration, District Council and Minority Affairs, Art & Culture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary departments. Lalthansanga was allocated Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Sericulture, Fisheries and Land Resources, Soil & Water Conservation departments.
Dr Vanlalthlana was allotted School Education, Higher & Technical Education, Taxation, Information & Public Relations and Information & Communication Technology departments. PC Vanlalruata was allotted Agriculture, Irrigation & Water Resources and Cooperation departments, while Lalrinpuii, the lone woman cabinet minister was allotted Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs, Women and Child Development and Tourism departments.
Among the Ministers of State (independent charges) F. Rodingliana holds Power & Electricity, Commerce & Industries and Printing & Stationery departments, while B. Lalchhanzova holds Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Land Revenue and Settlement departments.
Prof Lalnilawma was allotted Rural Development, Horticulture and Public Health Engineering departments. Lalnghinglova Hmar was allotted Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Sports & Youth Services and Excise & Narcotics departments. UNI ZS SSP

2 3 lakh jobs created in last 3 years: Meghalaya CM

Shillong, Feb 27 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed the State Assembly on Monday that 2.3 lakh jobs have been created through different government programmes in the state over the last three years, adding that the government is working towards creating of 5.5 lakh jobs in the next five years
Replying to a query during Question Hour, he said that the unemployment rate in the state on average is around 3 percent, which is below the national average of 4.7 percent.
