Two Pak infiltrators killed, a solider injured in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 16 (UNI) Two infiltrators were killed and a soldier was injured in a fresh encounter today near Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector in the frontier district of Kupwara, a defence ministry spokesman said. Colonel N N Joshi told UNI that alert troops noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side under the cover of darkness in Tangdhar sector from across the Line of Control (LoC). When challenged and asked to surrender on this side of the LoC, militants opened fire. Troops also retaliated ensuing a fierce gun battle, he said adding two militants were killed. A soldier was also injured, he said adding the operation was going on when the reports last came in. UNI BAS ADG PR1231
