Two more COVID-19 deaths, 79 new cases in Meghalaya

Shillong, Dec 2 (UNI) Two more COVID-19-related deaths in the East Khasi Hills district took the fatality count due to the ongoing pandemic to 114 and 79 fresh infections took the active caseload to 686, even as 60 recoveries mounted the number of recovered cases to 11154 in Meghalaya on Wednesday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the latest fatalities included a 55-year-old Pyrkhat Dkhar of Jowai in West Jaiñtia Hills district and 66-year-old Mani Bhadra Chakma of Pecarthal, Unakoti in Tripura.
Both the COVID-19 patients died in North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences.
