Two minor sisters drown in village pond

Bhubaneswar, Apr 9 (UNI) In a tragic and heart rendering incident, two minor sisters were drowned while taking bath in a village pond in Bideipur village under Basudevpur police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Monday morning.
Police said the two sisters identified as Papuni Mallick and Pinki Mallick had gone to the village pond to take a bath when the mishap took place. While bathing in the pond, younger daughter Pinki first slipped into the water and drowned. Seeing her sister drowning, Papuni came to her rescue to save her but she was too drowned.
The villagers later fished out the bodies of the two sisters and rushed them to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared them as brought dead. The incident had sent shock wave in the village.

recovered during a search operation conducted in Bhuski Pahadi under Raneshwar

End of withdrawal process, 237 candidates to battle out in 5th phase

Ranchi, Dec 6 (UNI) A total of 9 candidates have withdrawn their nominations at the
end of the stipulated time frame for withdrawal of nominations leaving behind 237
candidates for the fifth phase of polls on 16 seats of the Santhal Pargana division
where voting will be held on December 20.
