Two killed in road accident in West Champaran district

Bagaha, Mar 31 (UNI) Two people were killed and as many injured whenthey were hit by a speeding jeep under Valmiki police station area in West Champaran district late last night.
Police said here today that Yogendra Ram (38) was crushed to death bythe jeep when he was selling ice cream near a petrol pump. His threecustomers were also injured in the accident. All of them were admittedto Bagaha Sadar Hospital where Shahabuddin (32) died during treatment.The jeep driver fled leaving behind hisvehicle.
Irate villagers put up a blockade on Bagaha-Valmikiganar roaddemanding compensation to the bereaved families and government jobs to onemember of each affected family. Senior civil and police authoritieswere trying to pacify the people and lift the road blockade.
