Two injured in Manipur border fencing protest

Imphal, June 22 (UNI) Two persons, including a woman journalist, were injured here on Wednesday after police fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters who were protesting against border fencing work along Manipur-Myanmar border.
The United Committee Manipur (UCM), the apex body of the civil societies of Manipur, voiced its opposition to the border fencing works done by BRTF along Manipur Myanmar border saying large tracts of Manipur will be lost.
Large numbers of people came out in the streets shouting slogans and denouncing inaction of the centre and the state governments over the loss of Manipur’s territory due to the fencing work.
