Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) Security forces unearthed two hideouts of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered war-like stores in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
He said on a tip-off about the presence of militants and their hideouts, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in the woods at Badroo Barsoo in Pulwama on Wednesday night.
During the operation which was resumed with the first light this morning two hideouts, belonging to LeT, were busted.
A large cache of arms and ammunition, including 1918 AK rounds, two hand grenades, UBGL thrower, 4 UBGL grenades besides ammonium nitrate, gelatin sticks, crude pipe bomb and code sheets were recovered.
However, no one was arrested as militants had escaped before the operation.
A case vide FIR number 106/2020, under sections 18, 20, 23 ULAP, 4 Explosive substance Act, 7/25 Arms Act stands registered at police station Awantipora, he added.
