Two held on cyber crime charges in Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) Two persons were arrested for being indulged in cheating and fraud by luring people in the names of bogus schemes, police informed on Thursday.

According to police, Cyber Crime Police of CCS, Detective Department, Hyderabad apprehended Lokendra Singh (29) and his wife Ruchi Singh (28), residents of New Delhi who are running call centert styled as Dealothon Online Private Limited and luring people in the pretext of providing combo pack of worth Rs 7999 for Rs 2999 in case they make on line shopping over their website dealothon.com and later inform that they got prize of Renault Kwid Car and squeeze money and cheating the people.

A complaint was lodged by Capt Gadi Raghunadha Reddy, Medical Officer in 454 Field Hospital, West Marredpally, Secunderabad, regarding suicide of Army Sepoy Vilas Madhukar Sundarde.
A case under Suspicious Death was registered at Karkhana Police Station, and on verification of whatsapp chatting and mails sent by the Sepoy, it came to know that the deceased Sepoy who was trapped by online fraudsters and got cheated for Rs 90,000 tried to get back his money and when he realized that he was cheated, he informed through e-mails to commit suicide if the money is not returned back to him and when the fraudsters did not respond, the Sepoy committed suicide by hanging on April 16, 2019.

As the investigation revealed that on line private firm is responsible for the death of the Army Sepoy, the case was altered to Sec. 120(B), 420,306 IPC and Sec.66 D ITA Act and the case was transferred to Cyber Crime PS, CCS, Hyderabad, where a separate case in Cr.No.548/2019 was registered and investigated into it.

The accused Lokendra Singh was also previously involved in a similar case was arrested and are facing trial in the said case in the Court, the police added.
