Two held for abducting, demanding ransom in UP

Pratapgarh, Feb 24 (UNI) Two men were arrested in connection with kidnapping a minor and demanding Rs 10 lakh as ransom in the Kotwali Nagar area of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
In a statement, Superintendent of Police said Ram Sundar Pal, a resident of the Sipah Maheri village, had given a written complaint at the Kotwali Nagar on Sunday that his son Ritesh (10) was playing cricket in a primary school.
One Aniruddh, son of Ram Kailash, Sooraj aka Kallu and Ritik kidnapped his son and are demanding Rs 10 lakh as the ransom amount.
After registering a case, the police encircled the area near Avuaar bridge in the Kotwali Nagar and arrested the accused Aniruddh and Sooraj while Ritesh was freed.
During the exchange of fire between the accused and the police, the accused Aniruddh received a bullet injury in his left leg.
He was admitted to the district hospital from where he has been referred to the Swaroop Rani hospital in Prayagraj.
Efforts are on to nab the other accused involved in the abduction.
Ritesh was later handed over to his parents.

HP to use SDRF to feed people during lockdown : CM
